CAPACITY BUILDING OF PRIVATE SECTOR REPRESENTATIVES TRAINING ON TRADE FACILITATION WHICH WAS ON THE 21-22 SEPTEMBER 2017, AT DJEMBE BEACH RESORT

The training started with opening prayer and introduction of the participants by Mrs. Baturu Camara-Ceesay. Assistant Director of trade /EIF Coordinator, She also did the opening remarks and emphasized about the important of the training for people to take it seriously. Moreover she noted the meaning of trade, which is the act of buying and selling or exchange of commodities within a country or between countries, and importance of the ministry because of its involvement with the outside world

The first participants Mr. Modou Touray. YEP Program Officer, who highlighted on Overview of national trade facilitation infrastructure, he mentioned two types of infrastructures hard infrastructure, and soft infrastructure

Hard infrastructure includes Seaport infrastructure and facilities, Airport infrastructure and facilities, Rail infrastructure and facilities, he also said that information and communication technology (ICT) system is interpreted as the extent to which an economy uses information and communication technology to improve efficiency and productivity as well as to reduce transaction cost  

Soft infrastructure which is borders and transport efficiency aims at quantifying the level of efficiency of custom and domenstry transport that is reflected in the time cost and number of documents necessary for export and imports procedures
