The objective of the retreat is in line of the National Development Plan (NDP) and Medium Term Plan.

The meeting was held today at the 7th of January, 2020 at MoTIE conference room and it began with a welcome remark by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment- Mr.Lamin Dampha. In his remarks, he welcomed all the committee members with a season's greetings and happy new year to all. He also further introduce Mr Edrissa Jobe (The Current president of GCCI) as the new chairman of the committee.

The meeting continued with the new chairman declaring the meeting opened and also with an introduction of the agenda. 

Aid

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment on Tuesday 31st December, 2019 convened a one-day validation workshop on aid for trade strategy held at a local hotel in Senegambia.

The event is supported by the UNDP funded Entrepreneurship and Private Sector Development to formulate The Gambia Aid for Trade Strategy.

The objective of the strategy is to help identify The Gambia’s trade priorities and outline a strategy to enhance access to aid for trade resources to support trade development in The Gambia.
