The ECOWAS National Office (ENO) in The Gambia is housed within the Department of Regional Integration (DORI) at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration, and Employment (MOTIE) and serves as the link between ECOWAS and the various national stakeholders involved in the ECOWAS areas of intervention. The mission of the ENO is to ensure that The Gambia fully participates in, and contributes to, the regional integration process to enable it to derive optimum benefit from its membership of ECOWAS.

Key amongst the ENO functions includes but not limited to:

i.               Ensuring ECOWAS visibility in The Gambia and strengthening the programme ownership process;

ii.             Ensuring effective participation of The Gambia in ECOWAS programs and assume its responsibility for their implementation;

iii.            Enabling The Gambia to play an effective role in the ECOWAS decision-making process at all levels;

iv.            Ensuring The Gambia promptly honors all its obligations to ECOWAS;

v.              Mobilize, coordinate, and provide the necessary technical assistance to all stakeholders involved in the integration process;

vi.            Serve as a link between ECOWAS and the various national stakeholders involved in the ECOWAS areas of intervention.
